AI and Automation Expert - South Africa

Aginion is hiring a full-time AI and Automation Expert (40 hours/week) to join our team remotely. This position is open to candidates anywhere in South Africa, provided they have an unrestricted right to work and a reliable broadband internet connection suitable for remote work.

Role Overview

As an AI and Automation Expert, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining intelligent automation solutions for internal processes and customer projects. You will work at the intersection of workflow automation, AI integration, and infrastructure deployment, helping organizations leverage modern tools to become more efficient, responsive, and data-driven.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation workflows to streamline business and technical operations
  • Integrate local and cloud-based LLM (Large Language Model) solutions into real-world use cases
  • Run, test, and maintain open-source LLMs on local and virtualized/cloud infrastructure
  • Support and build AI-enhanced services, including document processing, decision assistance, and customer interaction flows
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to understand requirements and develop effective AI and automation solutions
  • Monitor and improve existing automation pipelines for performance and reliability

Skills and Tools

Required

  • Hands-on experience running and optimizing LLM models (e.g., LLaMA, Mistral, GPT-based models)
  • Understanding of cloud and local infrastructure for AI workloads
  • Scripting or light programming experience for workflow integration (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or API-based logic)

Preferred

  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms such as Make.com, Zapier, or Power Automate
  • Experience with n8n or ActivePieces for visual automation building
  • Interest in AI prompt design, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
