Over 20 Years of Experience in IT Security & Managed Services
Aginion was founded in 2004 with a clear mission: to make professional IT-security accessible to small and medium-sized businesses. At the time, most security solutions on the market were designed for enterprises with big budgets. Smaller companies had to rely mainly on antivirus software – a tool that was never sufficient to protect against the growing number of threats.
From day one, we looked for smarter, more cost-effective ways to reduce risks for our customers. Early on, we introduced application whitelisting, automated software deployment, and the removal of unnecessary admin rights for staff. These simple but powerful measures reduced security incidents by more than 95% at our clients. Soon after, we rolled out affordable backup and remote access solutions, ensuring that business continuity was no longer a privilege of the larger firms.

Today and Beyond
Today, Aginion operates as a global Managed IT Services Provider with offices in Luxembourg and South Africa, serving clients across Europe and beyond. We are ISO 27001:2022 certified and specialize in supporting regulated industries, including finance, venture capital, and organizations subject to EU regulations such as DORA, GDPR, and the AI Act.
We run our own Private Cloud infrastructure in Luxembourg, giving clients the assurance that their data remains sovereign and secure within the EU. On top of this, we have embraced AI and workflow automation – enabling our customers to innovate safely while reducing operational risk even further.

- 2004
Founding Year
Foundation of the company "Aginion IT-Consulting" in Germany by Benjamin Reiter.
The early focus was on improving IT-operations and Security for small companies and startups.
- 2008
Appplication Whitelisting
To improve the security posture of our customer base, we made Application Whitelisting and software deployment accessible to even the smallest firm.
- 2010
Private Cloud
To give customers with sensitive data an alternative to the big cloud providers we started offering our Private Cloud in Luxembourg.
- 2014
Move to Luxembourg
To be closer to our main customer base we transitioned the company from Germany to Luxembourg, establishing Aginion SA.
- 2017
Modern Workplace Solutions
To increase the flexibility of employees without compromising security, we added what is now called Modern Workplace and Hybrid Workplace Solutions to our portfolio.
- 2019
South African Branch
In 2019 we expanded into the African markets from our new branch in South Africa.
- 2020/21
Covid
During Covid our customers greatly benefitted from the scalable Secure Remote Access and Hybrid Work solutions we had implemented in the previous years. No modifications to existing infrastructure was necessary to allow 100% of their workforce to work from home.
- 2023
ISO 27001 Certification
Recognizing the importance of third party audits of our IT-Security efforts, we decided to work towards compliance with ISO 27001 (2022), the international standard for Information Security Management. The certificate was granted to us in November of 2023.
- 2024
DORA Compliance
Following the positive experience the ISO 27001 certification had on our internal processes, we decided to further improve by including the specific requirements of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (EU) and train our key people on its compliance.

Workflow Automation and Private AI
In 2025 we are adding 2 big new products to our portfolio:
