Power Consumption
We operate with a conscious focus on energy efficiency in our own infrastructure and when advising our customers. Our Private Cloud is hosted in data centers that use high-efficiency cooling systems and renewable energy wherever possible. Internally, we apply best practices for server consolidation, virtualization, and workload optimization — all aimed at reducing unnecessary energy usage.
We also encourage our customers to right-size their IT environments and migrate to modern infrastructure that consumes less power per compute unit, resulting in long-term energy and cost savings.
Packaging Material
When we ship equipment to customers or receive deliveries from our suppliers, we minimize packaging waste by choosing recyclable, plastic-free, and minimal packaging materials. We prioritize suppliers and logistics partners who share our sustainability values and avoid excessive or non-recyclable materials.
Additionally, we reuse internal packaging materials wherever feasible when preparing shipments from our offices or remote teams — extending the lifecycle of every box and filler.
Recycling
Aginion has established internal processes for the responsible disposal and recycling of IT equipment, batteries, cables, and other electronic components. We work with certified e-waste recycling partners that comply with European environmental standards to ensure proper handling and traceability of all recycled items.
This includes secure data wiping prior to hardware disposal or reuse, in line with GDPR and ISO 27001 requirements.
PC Reuse & Donation
Where possible, we extend the life of computers and other hardware by refurbishing and donating suitable equipment. Devices that still meet a reasonable performance and security baseline are either reused within our company or donated to local educational and non-profit initiatives — like Netzwerkstatt Trier e.V. in Germany.
By doing so, we not only reduce waste but also contribute to digital inclusion — helping others gain access to tools that can open up educational and economic opportunities.
Partnership: South African Reforestation Trust
Sustainability goes beyond IT. As part of our global responsibility, Aginion supports reforestation initiatives in South Africa through our cooperation with the South African Reforestation Trust.
So far, we have donated funds for the planting of more than 500 trees, directly contributing to the restoration of indigenous forests, biodiversity, and carbon absorption.
For us, this is more than a symbolic act — it’s a tangible investment in healthier ecosystems, climate resilience, and future generations.
Continuous Improvement
We’re not perfect — but we’re committed. We continuously evaluate and improve our internal policies and supplier relationships to reduce environmental impact wherever possible. Sustainability is not a one-time checkbox — it’s a mindset we apply to everything we do.
